Vashti Bunyan to perform at the Getty

From the Getty website:

"Discovered in the 60's by Rolling Stone guru Andrew Loog Oldham, Vashti Bunyan was touted as the "female Bob Dylan." But the promise of early fame was followed by a series of false-starts and missteps and Bunyan never got the recognition she deserved. Nearly thirty years later, her original material was reissued, attracting a legion of nu-folk admirers and Vashti's latest solo album, Lookaftering, is a breathtakingly beautiful collection of songs that is a testimony to her relevance today."

I am in love with Vashti Bunyan's newish Lookaftering. Her voice and minimalist fingering allow for a sweet dream of summer sleep that is much needed as finals draw to a close. Every show I have seen at the Getty has been such a special experience and I am sure this intimate evening with Vashti will be no different. Tickets are free but be sure to get your reservations beginning August 24 because seating is limited.
