Saul Williams - Niggy Tardust

The dominoes continue to fall - Saul Williams just announced that he will be making his latest LP, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust, available online for free with non-DRM or for a $5 donation. As an incentive to support Saul, the $5 donation will give you access to 320 kbit/s or FLAC files, while the free version is 192kbit/s. A great move for those left annoyed by the lower quality of In Rainbows.

Go to Saul Williams official site to pre-register for the album!

Niggy Tardust will be out Nov. 1st.

I just downloaded Niggy Tardust yesterday and I wish I had put forth the five bucks... what an amazing album. The music is incredible (lots of Reznor overtones) but what really got me was Saul's poetic flair. I highly suggest this album for anyone- I was skeptical because I didn't know what to expect... and honestly I would still have a hard time confining this album into one genre, it amazing, download it... Now.

I deleted it after suffering through three tracks. Over-emoted mediocre poetry over a distractingly noisy soundtrack. At least the price was right.

This album is genius. It took me a few listens and a little context via Saul's poetry to wrap my head around it though... realized how appathetic I've become. Download this album now.

I am a huge Trent Reznor fan, I saw Saul on tour with NIN and was reasonably impressed. With this album I am floored. Though it is a strange combo... hip-hop/industrial it works surprisingly well. The influence of both the artists on each other is wholly evident here. Saul provided some vocals for Nine Inch Nails Survivalism track on Year Zero and you can sense the same phrasing through much of this album, vocally and musically. The album definitely grabbed me at the second half that was when i knew it was a keeper and not to be dismissed as some wanna be NIN. This is a great album that takes a few listens to really get into take your time it is well worth it.

The first three tracks are definitely not indicative of the rest of them. Anyone who stopped there is missing out. WTF! and Raised to be Lowered are awesome, among others.

i agree with jake the first 2 tracks are not a good introduction...but as soon as Sunday starts you know that youre in for a treat( sauls softer more sensitive tone in SBS fits the meaning of the song better)i ....i own all of saul williams albums and i am a great fun...but this one i like best...its a great reward to hear his singing voice more than his "preaching" tone he has on his previous albums...production is excellent...a great album to have...i am proud to say i apid two times to have it both at the office and at home ...and i would pay even more....

love the album... those not used to glitchy reznor sounds or intense poetry from saul need to give it a chance and listen a few times. saul singing is great and real.
i love supporting the artists (a la radiohead) that put their albums out cheaply on the net and cut out the middle men in the recording industry...

I LOVE this album, I first got the songs "Break", "TrNigger",and "Banged and Blown Through" when Nine Inch Nails released them on their website. I love those three songs and then I was hoocked! I downloaded the full album and I can't get enough of it!
