Don't watch this if you are having a bad day

Bill O'Reilly's vile lies must stop. Without any regard for the truth, he rewrites history to fit his argument (using the heroic dead of WWII as his pawns). Don't worry Bill, FOX News seems more than willing to clean up your dirty laundry. The first time could have been a misquote; however, the second was explicit, and the follow up by Bill and FOX were both contradictory and shameful.

For any conservative readers, let me preface this by stating that these blatant and unapologetic lies are a-political. If he were a left-wing commentator I would be equally angry. A lie is a lie, and these people need to be exposed. I'm not kidding, if you find blatant lies on Media Matters, The Colbert Report, Daily Show, NY Times or whatever, send them my way. I don't want O'Reilly getting off the hook by people saying that this is just a liberal "hit piece." The rewriting of history is happening TODAY. Who's down to stop it?

I don't know man... there was a counter-massacre that happened not too long after Malmedy. He messed up on the name, and I don't deny that the guy's got too much pride, but liberals do tend to take things too far. Just because he used 5-dollar words in the mix doesn't mean I'm gonna say O'Reilley is evil. But that's just me!

This is basically a taste of what O'Reilly does every day. Reporters must report correctly or they shouldn't be in the position to influence millions of people. If he meant after Malmedy then he still should have apologized and FOX should have issued a statement that explained that situation, instead of pulling any trace of the broadcast and falsely stating that he had actually said Normandy. If people didn't record every second of the news, the rewriting of that statement could have actually worked.

There are so many problems here, starting with the fact that he got it wrong twice. But bottom line is O'Reilly is a self-righteous prick with a rather slim knowledge of U.S. history. Changing the transcript is absolutely ridiculous. What's to stop FOX News from changing the transcript anytime O'Reilly is called out. Hey, why not reshoot it as well?

I think that situations like these are the real reason we need Stephen Colbert, to help us smile at the moments idiocy of cable news and the pride that will never be surrendered for their false claims and misprints. It's hard all around on topics surrounding O'Reilly because though I dislike the guy and don't agree with him, I don't like having feelings of the such towards a person that is addressing a group that wants to hear these things. Of course, with O'Reilly's power and influence it would be wonderful if he did something positive with it.

I would have to say that next to the great Newt Gingrich, Billy Boy is one of America's, if not the world's, preeminent politcal thinkers and activists!

I think we desperately need the Colberts, Stewarts and Olbermans ... I've begun to wonder if the fact that there are so many political voices out there has made people less accountable for what they say.
